the time for camp trans is tomorrow!!! we'll be packing the car to bursting with granola and dried fruit, and speeding off into the wild blue yonder for a week in the woods to rediscover our.... feminisculinity? mascuemininity? whatever you wanna call it, it'll be fun. there's still some empty ass-space in the car, last offer for rides!
also i have my class schedule all in place:
M/W ~ ceramics III 11:30am-2:20 ; intro to metals 7:00pm-10:00
M/T/W/R/F ~ french I 2:30pm-3:20
T ~ intro to primates 4:10pm-7:00

4:16 pm - is summer really so close to being over?

so, in about 1 month chels and i will be strappin' on our.... camping boots..... okay the dildos too, and heading out into the middle of nowhere michigan to attend camp trans '05. ('what is camp trans?' you ask, if i had any idea how to post a link i would, but i don't so i'll just say that their address is www.camptrans.org check it out, yo!) i, can't, wait. we are overdue as usual for some quality out of kansas time. not to mention some quality queer time, but i guess they sort of go hand in hand. i haven't been camping in forever either and sleeping under some stars will be oh, so nice. if anybody else is interested in comin' along, we've got room for one or two more and could use a little help with gas money.
spent a fantastic couple of nights in good ol' MHK. gotta say, my parents' house is waaaaay more fun without my parents, and with a bunch of experimental theatre kids and beer.

modest mouse: i love modest mouse, i hate tulsa oklahoma... actually lets just make that oklahoma in general. the concert was certainly not everything i wanted, but it was more than i expected. they redeemed our crankiness from the rediculous journey down by opening with dramamine, and then there was the 20 minute cowboy dan which made everything worth it. the inbetween was mostly but not quite exclusively their new album, and since i had expected nothing but that, i was well satisfied. i heard that they played doin' the cockroach in KC which i would've loved to hear, but i'll take cowboy dan insead anyday.
ani: ani played a better show than i've seen her do in quite some time. it seems like she's finally getting into it again, and she played a fantastically cool set with andrew bird, her opening act (go check him out, he fuckin' rocked the violin) she stayed away from her older sing-a-long songs which was fine with me because i've heard most of them before, and i came to hear ANI sing, not the crowd, and besides, she touched on the big ones, though mostly in her encore.
in other news, i finally finished my first assignment for sculptural ceramics and kicked my critque in the provebial balls. i'm very excited to start on my next assignment and am less excited about my other classes, though they're all still great too. i spent an afternoon yesterday getting lost in kansas city, in large part due to my directional incompetence, but it was a most enlightening sort of journey, and we still ended up back where we were supposeed to be. i am glad to say that silly things like getting lost no longer scare me like they once did. who knows, maybe next time i get lost, none of you will see me again for years. take care kids.

i'm taking a 500 level ceramics class this semester, and we had our fist section today. i think maybe i'll go curl up and die now. i really wanna bust my ass in this class, and pull it off, but i'm so behind everyone else. practically everyone in it is a grad student, including my design II instructor from last year. i don't even know most of the terminology they are using. i'm kinda freaking out, if you couldn't already tell.
not much interesting other than that, chelsea and i are totally going down to tulsa to catch modest mouse later in february, and then back up here for ani difranco. sweet. i'll see what my other classes will be like tomorrow, and then i will beg forgiveness from my boss for a stupid thing i did.

you all be glad to know that since my last entry i've been doing exactly what i promised for break. absolutely nothing. it's been a nice few weeks, and shortly i will be jumping back into classes, then later in february i will totally be standing in a crowded room listening to modest mouse scream at me. sweet. for now i'm receeding back into my hiding hole for the remainder of break. later, kids. i'll see you when i see you.

just got back from a trip to manhattan. and what a long strange trip it's been.it's funny how i had a horrible time, and a really great time all at once. every time i go back i understand things about my past more and more. they're these realizations that once upon a time would have made me really upset, but each time it's less and less upseting, and it's getting to the point where it's really more comforting than anything.

moving day in T minus 13.5 hours. the time for hesitation is through, the time for packing has come. the kitchen is last on the list, as usual, and we're calling in the cavalry tomorrow. the name for the new house is "marooner's rock" and the smoking room is "the jolly roger" both a-la peter pan. we'll see you all there soon no doubt.

so i have managed to lose a little over $130 dollars worth of art supplies, and all my drawing projects from the semester, because i'm a flake. that includes my entire acrylic paint set, and my self portrait. fuck.

well, it's good to be back home for a little while. there's nothing like lookin' at your own history in the faces of your friends, and all that. man, oh man, we're moving into the new house soon, and i can't wait, although packing up the old dorm room is beginning to be more and more rediculous. my mom forgot to grab boxes from AIB, but hopefully my sister still has some. if anybody has some old boxes lying around and would like to donate them to a needy college student, please send them my way.
well, i'm going to go and visit my high school, and sit in on an experimental session, before i head home to nurse my girlfriend back to health and watch ariana leave the realm of the legally underaged. just another everyday chain of events for sweeps week.

in the computer lab again. the guy directly behind me hits the keys really really hard when he types, and he types ast, and he's tapping his foot out of rythm with his typing, creating the most obnoxious system of tappigi've ever heard. he also keeps talking on his cell phone in the computer lab. i kind of desperately want to kill him.
one more week till stop day. dear god summer is going to be fantastic.
i'm so tired that i have written maybe three sentences in the hour and 15 minutes i've been here..... uuugh... i just want sleep.

yes, i am once again writing a paper, and so i am also updating my lj. so to anybody who may be curious DON'T EAT THE YELLO SUB! i had a pesto bella last night that had me doubled over on the curb outside of corbin sharing it with the shrubery. yuk. that's probably the third time yello sub made me sick this semester. and i hardly ever eat there anyhow. so yeah, no more of that.
so i think i've finally decided what i'm going to do for my final design project. i'm going to make a narrative of the experimental workshop. it's going to be fucking cool. i'm real excited.
now, back to my paper.

so i'm trying to figure out how to re-write my paper when the only peer response i got was "it's good" grrrrrrrr!!!! whatever, i'll just print out the same paper.
i apologize that all my lj entries are about assignments nowadays, but i always update between papers in the compuer lab.
so frescos are great fun, and they'l be even better now that we know how to do them the real way. sweet.

so my entire life has been consumed with class and gluing sticks together (btw spray paint weakens hot glue, do not use the two concurrently.) and now my design project is finally over, and i don't have to start the next one till tuesday. so yeah, i plan on taking a nice, long.... nap this afternoon, and then watching queer as folk untill my eyes fall out. end.
